Well, we’re sure many of you have noticed some changes going on around the store in the last few months and you’re probably wondering, “What’s going on?” The most recent change is the addition of a large illuminated sign on the exterior of the building that says Ace Hardware! The first few days it was up, we heard several concerned questions, so here’s a little insight on the exciting changes here at Long Bros.
About a year ago, our family made the decision to change buying co-ops and to start purchasing from Ace Hardware. There are many reasons behind this change, many of which we felt would greatly benefit our customers. One great reason for the switch is we are able to capture greater cost savings. This allows us in turn, to pass exceptional pricing along to our customers. Also, items in Ace’s warehouse are more readily available. Products include a great new line of paint, Clark & Kensington Paint & Primer in One, which is rated #1 by Consumer Reports. Another great addition to our product line is Craftsman Tools! We are very excited to offer a large variety of Craftsman tools! The marketing that we receive from Ace is also far superior to what we’ve had in the past.
We are excited to be part of “The Helpful Place” family. We visited two Ace Hardware trade shows prior to making our decision and found the Ace Hardware staff very helpful and hardworking. They are truly committed to helping Ace Retailers serve their customers. Our decision to switch co-ops wasn’t made lightly. We spent many family dinners discussing the pros and cons of changing. We wanted to make a decision that would support the needs of our customers and our community. We want to reassure you that our same family continues to operate the store, just as we have since 1974. We still have the same amazing staff, here and ready to help you with any of your project needs.
Our goal is to be able to better serve the community, offer a better selection of hardware items, and to provide you with better access to the latest and greatest new items on the market. We are always here to answer any questions you might have. If there is something specific you are looking for that we don’t have, please don’t hesitate to let us know! If we’ve made a change that concerns you or there’s something we can improve upon, we are always open to your input.
